Stone Mountain is the world's largest exposed granite monolith with relief carving of Confederate notables, surrounded by attractions and recreation in a natural environment. At its summit, the elevation is 1,686 feet MSL and 825 feet above the surrounding area. The population was 5,802 at the 2010 census.

Of the five remaining lighthouses on Georgia's coast, the St. Simons Lighthouse is the most extensive and well-maintained. The 75-foot-tall lighthouse offers a view of South Georgia's coastal islands and the surrounding area.
